Ranging from 9 to 10 inches tall and 6 to 8 pounds when fully grown, Maltese are typically white, but beige and lemon markings are permissable.
Maltese are well-built, with a jaunty, flowing stride that makes it appear to float as it moves. Malteses have long silky coats that must be brushed every day. The coat must be kept dry in order to prevent matting.
Malteses are excellent apartment dogs with a lifespan of 12 to 14 years. A walk each day will provide ample exercise for this quiet breed. Providing that they could exercise the Maltese, the elderly and the disabled make good owners.
The Maltese is a gentle and sweet breed, always willing to accept affection from their owners. A Maltese puppy will be a happy addition to your family.
